      <image:caption>I aim to provide excellent, client-centered speech and language therapy services.  I use evidence-based assessment and therapy approaches, while being mindful of every individual’s need, in order to assist each client in achieving their communication goals. I pride myself in providing compassionate, quality therapy and support. When you receive services from Happy Hearts Speech Therapy, together our hearts will be happy! About me: When I am not working, I love spending my free time with my my kids and grandkids, my sister, and my dog Chipper. I enjoy camping, crafting, gardening, reading and being outdoors. I hope to someday learn to play the piano. Professional education and experience:  Shannon received her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology in 2013 and her Master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Speech Language Pathology in 2015. As a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, Shannon has most recently worked in the academic setting providing speech, language, and auditory rehabilitation to students grades preschool to 8th grade, including students who are deaf or hard of hearing.  Shannon also has experience working with children and adults of all ages in private practice, home healthcare, clinical settings, and via teletherapy.  Finally, Shannon was an adjunct instructor and supervised graduate students in the Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Clinic at the University of Northern Colorado.  Prior to becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist, Shannon spent the early years of her professional career employed as a Registered  Nurse. She received her Associated Degree in Nursing 1996 and spent the following twenty years working in critical care, including Intensive Care and Emergency departments. Shannon gained experience as a staff nurse and charge nurse. While continuing to maintain her license as a registered nurse, at this time, Shannon works predominantly as a speech language pathologist.  Shannon specializes in:  Articulation disorders Phonological disorders Motor speech disorders Language disorders Cognition Auditory habilitation and rehabilitation</image:caption>
